The History of Jacques Prévert

Who is this man named Jacques Prévert? Many have described him as a film maker, writer, husband/father, and of course Poet. He was born in February of 1900 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France which is near Paris. He had many collections of poetry, but throughout this poem series I analyzed the poems from his Paroles (Words) Collection that was produced in 1946. His poems are about life, and what it is life to live, specially during World War II. He was in active in the Surrealist Movement, annnd wasa member of the Rue du Château Group, and others that followed for fellow poets. A American poet Eve Merriam called him “France’s most popular poet of the 20th century.” His book Paroles was a best-seller, with hundreds of thousands of copies, he was highly expresses with idioms and wrote in antics, his style made it so one sentence could tell a story inn a view words and challenged ones general point of view. He worked on many films and was very involved inn french cinema, his work as a screen writer was just as impactive.
